TITLE: “We Are Living In An Age Of Adolescent Anxiety: Why Now? What Does It Look Like? And, What Do We Do?”
SPECIAL GUEST: Dr. Daniel Villiers, Founder & Director of Admissions
In the United States today, there are over 8 million children experiencing daily anxiety, and almost 2 million children who are refused to go to school this morning due to anxiety, fears, and related emotional and behavioral challenges.
Dr. Villiers, founder of Mountain Valley Treatment Center, shares with our audience refers to this latter group as a generation of “children in hiding,” where anxiety and fear have “created a mass exodus who is escaping the social and academic pressures of school, to the safety of the home and the short solution it appears to provide 24 hours a day.”
Dr. Villiers brings insight into why our children are experiencing this epidemic of anxiety now, how we can identify when it becomes a problem, and what we can do to help.
